About Better By Why

Last updated

Better By Why explains everyday sleep and energy questions: why a pattern happens, what the evidence supports, what is still uncertain, and what you might reasonably try next. This page explains our editorial process and how to ask for a correction.

In short

  • We explain; we do not diagnose, treat, or give personal medical advice.
  • Every guide lists its sources and says where the evidence is thin.
  • We disclose AI-assisted drafting and source checks. Our guides are not clinically reviewed.
  • Found a mistake? Email contact@betterbywhy.com and we will review it.

Who is behind it

Better By Why is an independent editorial project. We are not a clinic, a medical practice, or a supplement brand, and we have no clinicians or medical reviewers on staff at this time. We will not describe anyone as a doctor, dietitian, or expert reviewer unless that person actually holds the credential and actually reviewed the page. When a named author or reviewer is listed on a guide, their role will be stated on that guide.

How we write a guide

  1. Start from a real question, such as why focus drops after lunch, rather than from a product.
  2. Read the sources. We prefer human studies, systematic reviews, and public-health bodies. When a finding comes only from animal or lab research, or from a single small study, we say so.
  3. Separate what is known from what is not. Where evidence is weak, mixed, or missing, the guide says that in plain words.
  4. Check before publishing. Our workflow uses AI tools to draft explanations and a separate editorial pass to compare key claims with the cited sources. This is an AI-assisted editorial check, not a review by a clinician. It can miss errors; sources and limitations are visible so readers can check them and report corrections.
  5. Show our work. Each published guide lists its sources, its publication date, and the kind of editorial check it received.

What we will not do

  • Promise cures, quick fixes, or guaranteed results.
  • Invent testimonials, ratings, test results, or credentials.
  • Call something a review unless we have actually examined the product.
  • Present early or animal research as settled advice for people.

Our guides are general education. Talk to a qualified healthcare professional before changing medication, starting a supplement, or acting on symptoms that worry you. If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact local emergency services.

How we are funded

Right now the site has no advertising, sponsors, or affiliate links. If that changes, we will say so on the page where it matters and explain it on our Disclosures page first.

Corrections

If you think something we published is wrong, out of date, or misrepresents a source, email contact@betterbywhy.com with the page address and, if you can, a link to the evidence. We read every report. When we make a material correction, we update the page and add a dated note describing what changed. We do not quietly remove errors.

Contact

For questions, corrections, or privacy requests, email contact@betterbywhy.com. We cannot answer personal medical questions. See our Privacy page for how we handle messages you send.

Better By Why is an educational publication, not a medical service. Nothing here is a diagnosis or treatment plan.
